Back in the day, folks just watched tv shows... when life was less complicated.
Now? I still watch some of those but more often, whenever I'm able I watch educational videos, and have a second auditory video in a 2nd tab playing in the background.
It's so common in my house that once my youngest asked "is that guy cutting grass, also a pastor? And why is he preaching a sermon while edging lawns?" 😂
I intentionally choose videos that don't require audio so that I can run an audio/video in the background and get the best of both worlds while running them at the same time.
So most often it looks like this:
- Gardening videos in tab1 with a Christian sermon video in tab 2
- Landscaping in tab 1 with an album/song reaction video in tab 2
- Cooking/canning vid in tab1 with a Christian podcast in tab 2.
It all works out really well. 2 birds/1 stone sort of deal. Today's line up was super fun.
M & D Lawncare in tab 1 https://youtu.be/xmZlv45g4KQ?si=QyHv1y250j_i6ImJ
And Isaac Brown (a new channel for me) reaction to Boston in tab 2 https://youtu.be/ltKhK8a1ZZU?si=b3JtBKhDwCncPPI4
I love the M & D Lawncare channel as they seek out overgrown lawns in their hometown and clean them up for no charge. Home town heros, 100%. They really do an amazing job on all of their job sites, and it's a real blessing to the entire community. Be sure to check out their channel and see what they're up to!
This music reaction channel is new to me but this creator seems pretty family friendly from what I've seen so far with his content and I really love that. I always seek out G rated, family friendly reaction content, and thankfully, there are a lot of creators keeping things clean for all of us to enjoy.
Some really enjoyable content along the way:
19:55 "I think I get why the older generations always say that music isn't the same as it used to be. I get it. We don't have this anymore."
28:35 "I like this little prog rock thing going on. That's dissonant. Love that."
34:32 "What is this album? Oh my gosh. It's too much."
36:52 "Every one of these songs is so huge and such a massive hit. It's overwhelming. Like this is overload for me. I'm cooked."
I usually try and find video and audio channels that have the same basic run time so I can watch in one tab and listen in the other along the same timeline. It doesn't always work out, but that's the goal. It's usually the video portion that runs out so I watch the audio tab and the facial expressions reaction to the music never, ever disappoint.
Today's was a little more audio heavy and I'm super okay with that:
39:43 "I've never listened to an album that gave me a headache because it's so good".
42:51 "No way, no way. I'm done. I'm done. Wow. Okay. Um so yeah, that was a thing."
44:10 "That broke my brain. I'm broken, I'm going to be broken for the rest of the day. And I'm going to be belting More Than a Feeling and my family's going to hate me for it."
